Privacy Policy

The University of Valparaíso offers various mobile applications for the entire university community, and they are available for use free of charge. However, to access certain features, it is necessary to carry out authentication using access credentials, with the purpose of identifying users.

This site is designed to inform our visitors about our policies related to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information from those who choose to use our service. This is in compliance with personal data protection regulations stipulated in various legal bodies, applicable to the University of Valparaíso. Its regulatory framework is constituted, among others, by Law N° 19.628 of 1999, on the Protection of Private Life; as established in Article 19 No. 4 of the Political Constitution of the Republic; and Law N° 20.285, on Access to Public Information.

The terms presented in this Privacy Policy are defined in the same way as in our terms and conditions, available on all our platforms and applications, unless otherwise specified in this Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, when using our service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. This information will be retained and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Log Data

We want to inform you that every time you use our services, in the event of an error in the applications, we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone, called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device's internet protocol (IP) address, the name of the device, the version of the operating system, the application settings at the time you used our service, the time and date you used the service, and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites you visit and are stored in your device's internal memory.

Children’s Privacy

These services are not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete it from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take the necessary actions. 

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Therefore, we recommend that you check this site periodically to be aware of any changes. We will notify you of any modifications by posting the new Privacy Policy on this site.
